President's Comments PDF Print E-mail

Yes, September is here and here's to hoping the weather will start turning cool in time for our annual Conference in October!!

I myself can't wait until Fall Season when the cooler weather starts along with the leaves turning and apples are ready to be picked!!  (can you tell that Fall is my favorite Season)?!

But most of all; I am looking forward to our annual SCPRA Conference being held at the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach on October 26 - 28, 2016.  Our theme this year is:  "Making the Case for Records Management".  I will be presenting the first Case Study on Wednesday the 26th (From Grocery Store to Records Management) and Maria Beltran will be presenting her Case Study on Thursday the 27th (Paper-Mess to Paper-Less).

We also have a number of other great presentations throughout the week and I hope to see you all in October.  The conference brochures  have been mailed out and you should have received your brochure/registration forms in the mail.  You can also print one off from our website as well.  Please register at your earliest convenience before October 19, 2016.  Rooms are going fast and furious so hurry and register to reserve your spot at the conference.

Thank You, All

Andrew Bigony – President of SCPRA

Records Manager, Lexington County

Bob Rogers Innovation Award 2015 Winner Judy Lucas PDF Print E-mail

JUDY LUCAS has taken an active role with being an officer in the Midstate Region as well as becoming a member of the Board of Directors for the last 5 years. Since coming on the BOD, Judy has taken the role of Membership Coordinator seriously in taking the information from a handwritten bit of information to an electronic database, making it easy to keep up with those that are members as well as inputting the information with ease for the new members of SCPRA. By providing electronic membership information this also helps the Treasurer when it comes time to send out invoices each year for the members to renew their membership. Without Judy’s innovative ideas concerning the Association Membership, I am sure we would still be doing things by hand, making a task harder than it should be. Congratulations, Judy!

Angie takes her responsibilities very seriously and to heart. She would promote events on Facebook, post photos and as always made you feel included and welcomed. Angie has done a great job for the Association. Congratulations, Angie!

Patsye Greene Receives SCPRA Member of the Year Award 2015 PDF Print E-mail

PATSYE GREENE was innovative in her efforts to promote SCPRA. She worked diligently with the Coastal Region members and used her creativity to design a t-shirt promoting the Coastal Region and SCPRA. Such t-shirt was worn by members at the 2014 Annual Conference. Her efforts are definitely paying off for at the time of the submission of this nomination Coastal Region has the most members. Patsye has worked tirelessly since becoming a member of SCPRA to recruit new members for the Association and the Coastal Region. Patsye has served as the Membership Coordinator for several years, and had coordinated network luncheons and the Coastal Region workshop. Congratulations, Patsye!
