Good afternoon to the SCPRA Association,

I have just recently come back from visiting the Mountains of Gatlingburg, Tennessee.  This is a favorite place of mine to spend some time away from the hustle of everyday life.  Especially during the Fall Season!  Although it is not the Fall Season yet, I did see a number of pumpkins up for sale as well as other Fall Season decorations.  Seeing all this reminded me that October is just around the corner (two weeks) and what I also look forward to attending during the month of October is the annual SCPRA Conference.  This year we celebrate our 18th year.  I hope you have marked your calendars and set aside the week of October 22 - 24, 2014 to attend our conference.  You all should have received a registration brochure in the mail for the conference.  If you have misplaced it, no problem, you can always print one off of our WEB page.  Remember, the deadline for registration is October 15 so please get your registrations turned in.  We have a great conference planned for you with some new Vendors attending.  I look forward to seeing you in October!!

We would like for all attending Region Officers to have your picture taken by Randy Faulkner this year so that we can put it on our WEB page to help us add a face to the Region Officers

Thank You, All

Andrew Bigony – President of SCPRA

Records Manager, Lexington County

Michelle Lowery Receives SCPRA Member of the Year Award

MICHELLE LOWERY received the SCPRA Member of the Year Award at the 2013 conference. Michelle is not only dedicated to the York County Sheriff's Office, but she is dedicated and committed to the goals of the SCPRA. She does an excellent job as Program Coordinator for the Upstate Region and she chairs the SCPRA Awards Committee. She has organized the paperwork and all items as they relate to the Awards. Michelle planned, without hesitation, the network luncheon for the Upstate Region after realizing the Program Coordinator could not plan it. She has worked extremely hard to see that it was a success. Michelle has excellent work habits and does not mind new challenges of which she brings to SCPRA. She assists the Board when and wherever needed, and she will go out of her way to help. She demonstrates a high degree of initiative, and therefore the Member of the Year award is well deserving of her in appreciation for outstanding dedication and service above and beyond the call of duty.
