Palmetto Microfilm and
Imaging Systems has been serving the Carolina's and Georgia for over 25 years
and is one of the largest providers of microfilm and document imaging in South
Carolina. With this "real world" experience, Palmetto can share their
knowledge with customers who are designing their own internal procedures for
imaging documents. Approximately 70% of the documents that Palmetto images belong

The South Carolina
Department of Archives and History is an independent state agency whose mission
is to preserve
and promote the documentary and cultural heritage of the Palmetto State. The Department is the caretaker of the South Carolina Archives, a collection
of more than 325 years of historical documents recording the rich and diverse
history of the people and government of South Carolina. The agency’s mission
extends to encompass historic preservation, history education, records
management and records conservation.
A primary function of the South Carolina Department of Archives and
History is to work in partnership with state agency and local government
officials in the proper management of their records, and to identify and
preserve for public access those of historical/archival value.
