SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC RECORDS ASSOCIATION
2008 Annual Conference, November 12-14,
Landmark Resort, Myrtle Beach, SC
EMPOWERING RECORDS MANAGERS AND ADMINISTRATORS
For 2008, our conference remains at the recently renovated Landmark Resort. Favorable
room rates and a perfect location in the heart of Myrtle Beach make this an ideal spot to meet
during the day and relax in the evening.
Who should attend this conference?
Records and information professionals from the public and private sector including state
agencies, county and municipal agencies, public safety, court systems, local school systems,
colleges and universities and special purpose districts. If you belong to one of these groups,
be prepared to learn from each other, in casual conversation as well as in the breakout
sessions that enable you to interact with colleagues from your particular governmental area.
Don’t miss the best learning event for South Carolina government records professionals in
2008.
If you are new to records management and/or the Public Records Association, consider
arriving early for the Records Management “Boot Camp” session that takes place on the
morning of the 12th. For all attendees, new and veteran, we have the “Early Bird” vendor
demonstration later that same morning. See the timeline in this brochure for full details. For
our keynote speaker this year, we are honored to have with us Thomas E. Pope of Thomas E.
Pope and Associates, P.A. A gifted speaker, Mr. Pope is the former Solicitor of the Sixteenth
Judicial Circuit that includes York and Union counties.
Registrations
Registration will be limited to the first 200 people who send in their registration forms. The
registration fee is $125.00 for members and $150.00 for non-members. This fee includes
access to exhibit areas, educational sessions and materials, refreshment breaks, plus three
meals. Note that this year’s conference features what we are calling “early bird” sessions for
Wednesday morning, November 12. The main portion of the conference will start promptly at
1:30 that afternoon.
To register, complete the registration form and mail it along with a check or money order made
payable to the SC Public Records Association. Registrations must be received by
Wednesday, October 29. After this date, a late fee of $25.00 will apply. You will receive
confirmation of payment via email or in writing. No one-day registrations will be accepted.
